Jacinthe Dubé was born in Quebec in 1976. She specializes in the research, interpretation and teaching of traditional Quebec songs. She is a founding member of the traditional a cappella song group Galant, tu perds ton temps, with which she has performed in several concert halls and festivals in Quebec and abroad for 16 years now. Jacinthe taught traditional song at L’École des arts de la Veillée (SPDTQ) for more than 8 years. She also gives training and does vocal coaching with professional storytellers. Her passion for folklore and oral tradition led her to carry out a great deal of research on traditional song as well as on the voice and vocal techniques associated with the interpretation of this type of repertoire.
