Join a week of training in violin, guitar, mandolin and piano!

12th edition participants

The registration period begins on February 1 for the 13th edition of Camp Violon Trad Quebec, which will take place from July 19 to 24, 2020 at Plein Air Lanaudia in Saint-Côme.

Stéphanie Lépine, André Brunet and Eric Beaudry, the co-founders will welcome experienced teachers and renowned artists such as fiddlers David Boulanger, David Simard, Martin Racine, pianist Sophie Lavoie, guitarist André Marchand to the teachers’ cohort. Like last year, a mandolin class which will be led by none other than Michel Bordeleau. Violon Trad Québec will also have the chance to welcome for a master singing class, Jacinthe Dubé who specializes in research, interpretation and teaching of traditional Quebec songs as well as a bearer of tradition exercising a practice and having knowledge and know-how transmitted from generation to generation.

This beautiful vintage of artists will concoct a musical repertoire of Quebecois terroir that takes you on a journey and will share a rich artistic background with passion during five days of training honoring traditional music and the living heritage of Quebec.

Come and develop your technique while expanding your knowledge and fluency on the violin, the guitar, the mandolin and the piano and live a whole experience of training and sharing. A diverse program: concerts, jams, dance evening, mid-Carême festa, singing supper, etc. as well as many outdoor activities such as rabaska, canoeing, kayaking, ziplining await you for a unique and memorable vacation!

The camp is accessible to young people and families by offering financial assistance, a scholarship for those 18 and under and a reduced rate of 30% for non-musical accompanists. Save by registering before April 30! The registration and scholarship application period continues until June 1. Since 2008, the Camp Violon Trad Québec has brought together more than 1,600 musicians from here and elsewhere and has offered nearly $37,000 in scholarships to nearly 180 young emerging artists! It’s a date !
