Description

The primary objective of Camp Violon Trad Québec is to introduce, teach and thoroughly examine traditional Québécois fiddle music while developing the skills of the musician/camper. This five-day programme is led by top professionals in the field and welcomes students of all levels from age 6 to 99 (with a minimum of 2 years violin instruction). Based in the Lanaudière region of the province of Québec, Canada, this camp is unlike any other – it promotes interest in the legacy of traditional Québécois repertoire by encouraging both development and a general mastery of the genre. The camp supports cultural and inter-generational exchanges, and allows musicians to practice and enhance their skills and technique on fiddle, as well as stringed instrument guitar and piano accompaniment. It is the perfect place to learn and share a common repertoire and help keep the rich traditional culture of Québec alive. Concerts, jams, dance evening, mid-Lent celebration, singing dinner and more are on the program as well as outdoor activities such as rabaska, canoe, kayak, etc. for a unique and memorable vacation !
