Born in Gaspésie, Daniel spent the first 20 years of his life in the village of Mont-Louis. Relocated to Quebec in 1980, he played with his brother Jean-François in the region. They got acquainted with trad musicians and learned their repertoire. Daniel joined the group Manigance which left a mark throughout Quebec and Europe. His dynamic style was shaped by studying Carignan, Boudreau, Alain, Laporte and others. He also has a family repertoire that he has passed on to his son Louis-Simon that is now transported around the world. He is currently playing with Le Rêve du Diable and continues to animate parties of all kinds.
